1973: Birth of CM3 Standard Containers
CM3 Ltd. was founded in 1973 by Mr. Laudani Pietro and two other partners, hence its full name Contenitori Metallici 3 (Metal Containers 3). Mr. Laudani is, to this day, the last of the original promoters of this company. From the very beginning, metalworking was a great inspiration for him, which blossomed from his youthful experiences. In a small garage in the province of Catania he had the opportunity to learn and refine the art of ironworking.
In that garage, day after day, his passion for creating and discovering new possibilities for the material grew, as it could take on new forms under his hands, even though at that time he was only producing canopies, gates, and similar items. This passion, at the young age of just seventeen, gave him the strength and courage to leave his home and family, with a deep sorrow for the land that, although beloved, did not paint a vision of a bright future for him. Thus, he decided to embark on new work experiences at various companies in northern Italy.
At that time, he left behind the reality of a small garage, which had become too small for his ambitions, to seek fortune and new experiences in the industrialized areas of northern Italy, which promised more opportunities for a young man eager to fulfill his dreams.
With the help of a small company producing refrigerators in the Turin area, in 1973, equipped with only two old and worn-out welders and a few makeshift tools, the company that has been thriving for more than fifty years was born. It was 1973 when CM3 L.P. was founded in a small building of about 500 m² in the province of Turin. Mr. Laudani started his business as a small entrepreneur, with a vision of a future filled with continuous growth ahead of him. In the early 1990s, in this rented building, which had become too small for the constantly growing production needs, the idea of creating a small empire was born. Thus began the construction of the first CM3 production plant in Trana.
In the following years, the company developed, gaining increasing experience in the production of packaging for both internal and external logistics, thus adopting this sector as its main line of business while not straying too far from metalworking, which forms the foundation of this company. For about ten years, the company's revenue increased thanks to the Italian market, where CM3 had already highlighted its strong position, serving clients such as the Fiat Group and its subcontractors. Gradually, in order not to be dependent on a single market and guided by his original passion, Mr. Laudani expanded his business to the European and international markets, and in the 1980s, CM3 began collaborating with the General Motors Group, both European and American.
In 1994, CM3, at the request of the Fiat Group, formed a partnership with the Imer Company, leading to the creation of the IMER-CM3 Group. Unfortunately, different opinions on the management of the company quickly became apparent, and as a result, the two companies separated in 1998. In the same year, the new CM3 Ltd. resumed its activities at its plant in Trana, and on the same foundation, two years later, CM3 Polska was established in Poland. This newly established company serves as a useful tool to improve and increase the production volume of the group, which is now experiencing exponential growth. In addition to increasing the production capacity, the new company also aims to enhance the satisfaction of its customers. The mission of our group and the ultimate goal is to provide excellent pricing, high quality, and outstanding service. In pursuit of complete customer satisfaction, CM3 and CM3 Polska continually seek new materials and innovative solutions. This allows us to refine our skills and positions us as a reliable, flexible, and professional company, ready to fulfill the expectations of our customers.
Years go by, and new experiences and clients cross the thresholds of our offices, constantly increasing our curiosity and desire to explore new boundaries. The types of packaging that have been developed, designed, and produced span the entire automotive industry, from simple stamped sheets to bulky and heavy sheet metal carriers for the press departments, from transporting single stamped components to transporting entire vehicle bodies as well as finished cars.
For each client, the CM3 Group adapts work methods and gains new knowledge, which is also useful for expanding the range of our capabilities in terms of further offers and the development of new projects. In 2014, CM3 also acquired design and production capabilities in the field of plastic thermoforming, thanks to the acquisition of machinery and highly qualified specialists.
Since then, CM3 has passionately met the production and logistical needs of its clients, continually enhancing its skills and competencies through new industry experiences. Therefore, we encourage all clients seeking reliability, expertise, quality, and competitive prices to contact us without hesitation.
